A new offering for biomedical businesses
The former Manchester Royal Eye Hospital is being redeveloped into Citylabs, a world-leading centre for companies working on healthcare research.
The new centre will attract many businesses who want to work with our top-class researchers and access facilities for clinical trials. This will speed up the pace of innovation in the NHS and lead to improved care and treatment for patients.
Developed by Bruntwood and Manchester Science Parks, and located at the heart of Europe's largest clinical academic campus, the purpose-built facility is due for completion in 2014.
“The centre will bring together university researchers, hospital clinicians and industry professionals under the same roof. This will provide an ideal setting for greater research collaborations into disease areas that affect our community and will increase investment in healthcare businesses.”
Mr Bob Pearson, Medical Director at Central Manchester University Hospitals
